In St. John’s Gospel at the procession of Jesus into Jerusalem, we hear a great crowd of followers crying out: “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel.”
These followers have heard His words of salvation and witnessed the many miracles of healing and driving out demons. The words are asking Jesus to save them by delivering them from the evil of the earth.
St. Mark’s Passion Gospel within the Church takes us from that time to Good Friday where the crowd is now shouting out: “Crucify Him, Crucify Him.”
The chief priests, scribes and elders of the Sanhedrin have now incited the crowd out of envy to kill Jesus because the itinerant preacher from Galilee was popular and stealing their leadership.
Today we realize that Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, came to earth to suffer and die for our sins so that we could be saved and have the everlasting life of heaven if we are obedient to the will of God.
Our cry today and everyday of our lives should and must be: God is Good, all the time!
He has proved it to us by His words and actions while on earth and continues to place it in our hearts through the presence of the Holy Spirit. Let us always remember God’s love for us is eternal from the time He created us and for live everlasting.
God is Good! All the Time!
God is Good! All the Time!
God is Good! All the Time!
