The Most Holy Trinity Is A Mystery To All Believers. And Yet, Without God In Our Lives, There Is No Hope. Accept Father, Son And Holy Spirit To Complete Our Lives.

Mysteries can be fascinating if you have a mind that enjoys being challenged.  Though finding a result of this may be what is sought, the real satisfaction seems to lie in the varying paths one is led down to receive a solution of what is meant by each twist and turn. The hope is one will have a clear picture of what is meant at the end of the journey.

In the Catholic Church, the doctrine of the Most Holy Trinity is considered the most fundamental in our Christian faith and a mystery yet to be solved; if ever.  How can three persons be one God?  By human standards, it is impossible.  What makes it even more interesting is that each person is so different and yet are equal.  In the words of today’s Preface to the Eucharistic Prayer it states: “…three Persons equal in majesty, undivided in splendor, yet one Lord, one God, ever to be adored.”

It is the function of each that somewhat differentiates them.  God the Father, according to Acts says: In Him, we live and move and have our being.”  Though there are no gender differences, we call God father in the sense of the Parent who gives life and nurture.

Jesus, the Christ, Son of God, incarnate in that He is the only begotten Son of God, also was born of a human mother, Mary, as revealed by the Archangel Gabriel at the Annunciation.  St. John in his Gospel tells us: “God, the Father, sent His Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but so that through Him the world might be saved.”

It is the Holy Spirit that is often considered the glue to this triumvirate God as defined by their love for one another.  Again, Scripture in St. Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians helps us to understand how we fit into this indwelling when he writes: “Try to grow perfect; help one another.  Be united; live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.”

If we truly believe in the faith of the Most Holy Trinity, we must ask ourselves what is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit calling us to do in our lives that emulate all they have shown to us.  What gifts and talents have we been given that allows us to reach out to others to reveal God’s love for all His creation.

Let us take this week to look deep into our hearts to search how we can share our love of God with all we come in contact.  How can we make a difference in the lives of our family, friends, coworkers, fellow worshippers, acquaintances and strangers?  Let us rely on three main areas God does with His creation: Love, Mercy and Forgiveness.  Who knows?  We might awaken a feeling, a thought or something else for someone who is facing a difficulty in their life.  By our touching their lives we could change their outlook to consider a more positive side to life.  Isn’t it worth a try?
